Presentation of the III Intermón Oxfam Trailwalker

The third edition of the Intermón Oxfam Trailwalker in Spain, one of the greatest sporting and solidarity challenges in the world, will take place on 20 April. The challenge involves teams of 4 crossing 100 kilometres on foot together in a maximum time of 32 hours. The 2013 edition of Trailwalker will cover the same route as that of 2012: the “greenways”, a hiking route running between Olot, Girona and Sant Feliu de Guíxols. The team members have to start and finish together in a clear example of solidarity and teamwork.

The objective of the walk is to fight against poverty and injustice in the world. Each team will undertake to raise money to support the hundreds of projects that Intermón Oxfam carries out in Africa, Asia and America. This does not just involve a physical trial, but is also a solidarity challenge.

The Olympic medallists and ambassadors of the 2013 Trailwalker, Andrea Fuentes, Joel González i Maria Vasco, will present the event in a highly appropriate place: the Olympic and Sports Museum of Barcelona. They will be accompanied by the Director of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation, Juli Pernas, and the General Director of Intermón Oxfam in Catalonia, Francesc Mateu.
